I don't know if it is the exhaustion from working all day or if I'm just in a sappy stretch of shows, but the last three episodes of This American Life that I've been listening to all day have brought me to tears.

It's a really good show. The more recent episodes with the stories from Iraq are particularly interesting.

Btw, I'm lovin' on BitTorrent. I'm downloading the Fedora Core 5 ISO (so I can upgrade Amarok to support m4a). I've been pulling between 600 and 700 kilobits the whole time. It's going to take about an hour and a half to download the 3gb file. If it were a DVD, I could be watching it in real time.

I am workin' quite a bit as of late. Gonna take some time this weekend and hopefully update. In the interim, here is some funny from the internet:

I have a variety of more important things to write about, but our coup has me stuck in the bureau and I've been wasting time on the internet all morning since I'm not supposed to go anywhere.

The SAT: Sex Aptitude Test really entertained me. I got a 17. Apparently, I'm a sex genius. ☺

I ran across Yirmumah on Penny Arcade. Funny stuff. I also blew about three hours the other day reading the entire archive of Sore Thumbs.

Project for the day involves interacting with a Flash movie from Javascript. In the process of searching for how to do it I found a neat example. I'm pretty sure the livejournal link cleaner will eat this link, so instead paste this long link:

…[a fan raised the challenge to] Yang Sihamoni, President of the CMFL, claiming that one lion could defeat his entire league of 42 fighters.

…The Cambodian Government allowed the fight to take place, under the condition that they receive a 50% commission on each ticket sold, and that no cameras would be allowed in the arena.

The fight was called in only 12 minutes, after which 28 fighters were declared dead, while the other 14 suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lost limbs, rendering them unable to fight back.

I've been in the lab quite a bit in the last week getting caught up on the firewall and my classes. The biggest evidence for my occupation is my regular updates. I have a limited capacity for concentrated work; after a bit, I all of a sudden discover I'm not working, but instead recounting my lack of oral pleasuring to God and the internet.

Today I got bored and wandered the net for a while. I took the mythological profile test out of rumielf's journal. (I'm a roc, btw.) While there, I noticed that the site, okcupid, is a dating sort of site.

WAIST left me remembering how I like dating and realizing I miss it. Granted, I live several thousand miles from everyone, and I don't expect to do any dating here, but I made myself an account. I figure just talking to someone would be entertaining. I've enjoyed reading the different profiles of people. Still not sure about the general dateability of the fairer sex, but I'm finding two years does wonders for developing willingness to try.

More in the vein of random internet flotsam: a collaborative modern art project where people create postcards with secrets on them and mail them in. There's some really interesting art here and it raises the question of what your secret would be…

Honestly, I enjoy Valentine's Day. Well, I like the romance bit. Get dressed up and go out to a nice restaurant, maybe a little dancing. What's not to like? good food, dancing and dress-up generally culminating in some lovin'. I have been told though that I am a bit of a girl. ☺ Regardless, this new holiday also sounds like a good time. Mmm, steak… I would do someone serious physical harm for a steak. More so than for a blow job, interestingly, and it has been almost two years since I've had either.

Dance like no one's watching? I prefer this kid's dance like you know the whole world's watching and you just don't care.
